The Intercity Direct (formerly Fyra) travels between Amsterdam, Schiphol, Rotterdam and Breda. To travel with Intercity Direct you need to pay an Intercity Direct surcharge if the Schiphol-Rotterdam route forms a part of your journey. You pay this surcharge (for a single journey) at the surcharge point on the Intercity Direct platform. The surcharge is immediately deducted from your card. You can get more information on paying the surcharge from the NS: More information on Intercity Direct. You can also pay the surcharge at an NS ticket machine or NS service desk. In that case you have to pay the surcharge yourself.
NB: Your employer decides if and to what extent the surcharge for Intercity Direct will be reimbursed. Ask your employer about this.
